Women we love

Women we love

This is a deeply personal choice for me. Her vibe and her voice call to me like steel to magnet. She inspires me to show any aspect of myself that I care to share, in any way I care to. This woman KNOWS her value, and she reminds me of mine.

Meet Lyn Slater, the Accidental Icon, the professor turned fashion icon.

@iconaccidental has, oh, over 650,000 followers.

She started her blog because she couldn’t find any for “women (like me) who are not famous or celebrities but are smart, creative, fashion forward, fit, thoughtful, engaged, related and most importantly clear and comfortable with who they are.”

In her own words, she is the woman who:
💃Has original style without being eccentric

💃Is somber, seductive and romantic

💃Has the strength not to be part of a group even while she is delightedly part of a group(s)

💃Is able to express uncertainties, fears and contradictions

💃Walks the fine line between rebellion and convention because she has to

💃Has integrity in that she can embrace opposing tension

💃Open to serendipity, she can let go and follow where chance leads her

💃Is a huge fan accidental occurrences’ and making something of them, she believes in fate

💃Has unfinished business.

The Accidental Icon lives life on her own terms, without intentionally making a statement. In doing so, she makes women realize we can grow old and not only not disappear, but shine.

For all these reasons, the Accidental Icon is my clear pick for #womenwelove.
